What the shop actually does
The basic idea is simple. You design your own doormat with a motif, a saying, a name or a company logo. For private customers there are photo and quote mats, for companies logo mats as an advertising item. You can order starting from a single piece, and the size is fairly freely chosen. I made a mat for our front entrance, with our surname and a small motif on it.
What I noticed, positively
A few things genuinely won me over.
- Made in Germany: The mats are manufactured in Germany, the pile is 100 percent polyamide. You can tell from the workmanship.
- Washable: According to the listing, washable up to 150 times. I have washed mine twice so far, and the colours are still as strong as at the start.
- The configurator: Designing online was easier than expected. Colours, fonts and templates are all there, and you see straight away how the result will look.
- No minimum quantity: For private individuals it's nice that you don't have to buy ten pieces at once.
The print itself is clean and the edges hold up. It keeps dirt and moisture out well, which mattered for our entrance.
Where it falls short
It's not entirely without small weaknesses. Delivery time is 5 to 8 business days, which is fine, but if you're in a hurry you'll get impatient. Shipping costs 8.90 euros, which is noticeable for a single mat. And if you upload your own photo in high quality, pay attention to the resolution, otherwise the print can look a bit softer than hoped. That was more my own mistake though.
Who this is worth it for
For people like me who want something personal in front of their door, this works well. I also think the logo mats make sense for small businesses, because a mat like that in the entrance area really stands out while still being practical. You can choose qualities depending on where it's used, and if you have questions you can simply call or write.
My verdict
I'm happy with my mat. It looks good, lies flat, and survived the first wet autumn without issues. The price is fair for the quality, and the design process was even fun. If you're looking for an individual doormat and don't want a generic hardware-store version, I would try Fussmatten-welt.de. I'll definitely order there again, at the latest when I need one for the balcony.
