Beauty Outlet Reviewed: Is It Really Worth It?

I first stumbled onto Beauty Outlet when I was hunting for a cheap foundation to test before committing to a full price one. I have a bad habit of buying makeup I never finish, so paying £15 for something I might hate felt silly. A friend mentioned this shop, and I have been ordering from it on and off for about six months now.

What Beauty Outlet actually is

In short, it is a discount beauty shop. Makeup, skincare, hair, nails, bath and body, fragrance, the usual mix. What surprised me was the brand list. This is not all no name stuff. I saw Revolution, NYX, Maybelline, L’Oreal, Rimmel, Sukin, OPI, Barry M and plenty more, all sitting at prices well below what I pay on the high street.

What stood out to me

A few things kept me coming back.

• The prices are genuinely low. I picked up a Revolution Conceal & Hydrate Foundation for £3.99 when it usually goes for £9. A Sukin serum that normally costs nearly £20 was down to £2. That one felt almost too good, so I only half believed it until it arrived.
• The multibuy deals. Things like Essie polish at two for £8 or Lip Smacker on 3 for 2 add up if you stock up. I bought three nail polishes and paid for two.
• The Mystery Box. A £10 box with a claimed £50 value. Mine had a couple of items I would never have chosen myself, but two of them I now use weekly, so I called it a win.

The small downsides

It is not perfect, and I would rather be honest. Popular sale items sell out fast. A few things I wanted, like a bronzing drop and a nail spray, were already gone by the time I added them to my basket. Stock seems to move quickly, so the deal you saw yesterday might not be there today.

The other thing is that the range shifts around. Because it is an outlet, you cannot always count on repurchasing the exact same product. I loved one concealer shade and then could not find it again a month later. If you find a bargain you love, buy a spare.

My verdict

For the money, I think Beauty Outlet is well worth a look. I have spent maybe a fraction of what I normally would and still ended up with brands I recognise and trust. The trick is to treat it a bit like a treasure hunt. Go in, see what is discounted that week, and grab it before it disappears. If you like testing new products without the guilt of full price, you will probably enjoy browsing here as much as I do.

I will keep ordering, mostly for the Revolution deals and the occasional Mystery Box gamble. If you have been curious, it is an easy one to try without spending much.
