Intimissimi.com: Is the Italian Underwear Really Worth It?

I have been curious about Intimissimi for a while. Every time I walked past one of their shops I told myself I would try them eventually, and I finally caved and ordered a few things online instead. Here is how it actually went.

What Intimissimi.com offers

The short version: underwear and nightwear for women and men. On the women’s side you get bras, briefs, lingerie, knitwear and sleepwear. For men there are boxers, briefs, tops, easywear and socks. There is also a small swimwear range. It is part of the Calzedonia group, which explains the consistent quality across the board.

The site itself is easy to move around. They have a size finder and a style finder, which I used because I never trust my own guesses when it comes to bra sizing online.

What stood out to me

A few things genuinely surprised me, in a good way.

• The fabric. The cotton pieces feel soft without being flimsy, and the lace items held up after a couple of washes. That is usually where cheaper brands fall apart for me.
• The size finder actually worked. I answered a few questions and the recommendation was spot on. No sad returns.
• The app and account setup. Tracking my order and checking status was simple. Everything sat in one place under my account.

The fit

The bras in particular impressed me. Good support, and the straps did not dig in after a full day. I have wide feet and small quirks with sizing, so I was braced for disappointment. It did not come.

Minor drawbacks

It is not perfect. The prices sit a little higher than fast fashion, so this is not the place for a bulk basics haul on a tight budget. I also found that some of the more popular colours sold out quickly, so if you see something you like, do not sit on it for two weeks like I did. And the newsletter emails come a touch too often for my taste, though that is easy enough to manage.

The return process was clear, at least. You enter your order number and surname, or go through your account, and it walks you through it. I did not need to return anything this time, but I read through the steps and they made sense.

My verdict

Would I order from Intimissimi.com again? Yes, and I already have a small wishlist saved. The quality justifies the price for me, the sizing tools take the guesswork out, and the pieces I bought have become the ones I reach for first. If you have been on the fence like I was, I think it is worth a proper look. Start with one or two items, see how they fit your body, and go from there.
